Who we are

TimeShare Sailing is a program of Spinnaker Sailing San Francisco, based at Pier 40, South Beach Harbor. In this policy, “we” and “us” mean Spinnaker Sailing San Francisco. It covers this website, timesharesailing.com.

When you send an enquiry

The enquiry form sends us what you enter: your name and email address, your phone number if you add one, your message, and the options you pick for boat, certification, membership term and student status.

It reaches our staff inbox as an email. We use it to reply to you and to talk with you about membership, and we keep it for as long as we need it for that and for our normal business records.

Keeping the form free of spam

The form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which looks at technical details such as your IP address and how your browser behaves in order to tell a person from an automated program. Cloudflare explains how it handles that information in its privacy policy.

Our server also keeps a scrambled (hashed) copy of your IP address with the time you sent the form, so it can stop one connection sending the form over and over within an hour.

Analytics and cookies

We use Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to see how people find and use this site. It stores small files called cookies in your browser and records things like the pages you view, how you arrived (from a search or an ad, for example), what kind of device and browser you use, and your rough location. It does not tell us who you are.

We also note when an enquiry is sent, along with the dropdown choices from the form, and when someone taps our phone number or email address. Your name, email address, phone number and message are never sent to Google Analytics.

This helps us improve the site and shows us whether our advertising, including Google Ads, brings in enquiries. Google deletes the detailed analytics records after 14 months. Google may also collect information about your activity on this site and other sites over time, as it describes in its explanation of how it uses that data.

Turning analytics off

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google’s Analytics opt-out add-on. The site works the same either way.

Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal. There is no agreed standard for what a website should do with it, so this site does not currently respond to it. The options above do work.

Server logs

Like most websites, our web host keeps standard logs of the requests the site receives, including IP addresses, the pages asked for and browser details. They are used to keep the site running and secure.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the companies that run parts of this site for us, which are our web host, our email provider, Cloudflare and Google, and only so they can do that work. We will also disclose information if the law requires it.

Your rights

You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email or call us using the details below. We will need to confirm it is really you before we act, and we will not treat you any differently for asking. California residents have these rights under California law.

Children

This site is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you think a child has sent us their details, tell us and we will delete them.

Security

The site uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and enquiries travel to our inbox over an encrypted connection as well. No way of sending or storing information is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable care of what you send us.

Links to other sites, including spinnaker-sailing.com and rendezvouscharters.com, take you somewhere this policy does not cover. Those sites have their own policies.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page and update the effective date at the top.
