Two ways in
The lower monthly rate, and the right choice for anyone sailing year-round, which on this Bay is most people. Winter here is often the best sailing of the year: steadier breeze, emptier water, better light.
Starting at $350/mo
Slightly more per month, with half the commitment. Suits seasonal sailors, people who split their year between cities, and anyone who'd rather test the program properly before signing on for a year.

Refundable, and held in escrow for the length of your membership. It scales with the boat and returns to you at the end of the term.
Unlimited use of the Andrews 21s and J/80s instead of seven sails a month, and $500 off the deposit on those boats: $1,000 on the Andrews, $1,500 on the J/80.
What you need
We ask for a certification level because it's a useful shorthand, not because it's the only thing that counts.
If you've sailed comparable boats in comparable conditions, tell us about it. We'd rather have a conversation and assess you properly than turn away a capable sailor over a missing card. And if you're not there yet, our school runs the whole ASA ladder out of the same dock.
Basic Coastal Cruising. You can rig, sail, reef and dock a small keelboat without supervision, and you understand the Bay's tides and traffic.
Booking: email the office with your date. Standard check-in and check-out.
Bareboat Cruising. You're competent on a 30-foot-plus auxiliary: systems, anchoring, docking under power, and crew management in a breeze.
Booking: shared Google calendar, up to a year in advance. No office visit.
Before your first sail
Every member is trained on their specific boat before sailing her alone. It's why the fleet stays in the condition it does, and why members are confident from the first day rather than the fifth.
Engine, electrics, plumbing, safety gear, reefing, and where everything lives on your particular hull.
Sailing her in real conditions with an instructor aboard, including docking at Pier 40 under power and in breeze.
Parking pass, calendar access, check-out procedure, and the direct number to call if anything's wrong on the dock.
